ZeoliC

(Chitosan-Zeolite Nanocarrier for Sustained Ascorbic Acid Delivery)
Ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) is a potent antioxidant essential for collagen synthesis, immune function, and cellular repair. However, its instability and short biological half-life limit its therapeutic efficiency. Repeated dosing leads to poor compliance and reduced efficacy.

System Design – ZeoliC-Release

Nanocarrier Matrix:

Zeolite particles provide high drug-loading capacity, coated with chitosan, a biopolymer offering a pH-responsive release. Dual structure ensures encapsulation stability and prolonged retention

Drug:

Ascorbic acid (Vitamin C), stabilized within zeolite pores and released in a controlled, sustained profile, protected from oxidation and degradation.

Drug Release Profile

Exhibits biphasic behavior: initial limited burst followed by a slow, sustained release over time. In vitro results show prolonged antioxidant activity compared to free Vitamin C.
