Project Overview

Nanogels are promising drug delivery systems due to their high loading capacity, biocompatibility, and tunable physicochemical properties. However, achieving precise control over nanogel size and uniformity remains a significant challenge. This project proposes the in-silico simulation of a vortex-based microfluidic device to optimize mixing conditions for nanogel formation. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) will be employed to investigate the effects of vortex geometry, flow rate, and mixing intensity on nanogel size distribution and formation efficiency. The simulation results will identify optimal operating conditions, provide design guidelines for improved microfluidic platforms and reduce the need for extensive experimental trials in nanogel synthesis.
